New Disney Cars Land takes you to Radiator Springs…
If your kids are anything like my 3 year old nephew, Jake, this place is going to have to go pretty high on the “must-do” list. Can you imagine 12-acres of Radiator Springs? Well, leave it to Disney to do it up right. Cars Land opened up at Disney’s California Adventure in June of this year and according to the reviews, does not disappoint.
Cars Land is like walking into the movie. With attractions like Luigi’s Flying Tires, Maters Junkyard Jamboree and Radiator Springs Racers, your little one will be the happiest kid on earth.
As you travel Route 66, you will find other points of interest such as Flo’s V8 Café, the Cozy Cone Motel, Luigi’s Casa del Tires and Ramone’s House of Body Art just to name a few. Convertible sports cars zip by on a nearby track while the smell of fresh-baked pie emanates from the tables at Flo’s diner.
If, like me, you have spent some time playing “Ka-chows”, you may want to think about taking it up a notch in California!

This ride is pretty awesome and is now one of my favorite rides at CA Adventure! If you loved the movie Cars, you will love this ride. It feels like you’re right in the middle of the movie during the first half of the ride. Great characters that interact with you — Disney really outdid themselves with detail because they look so real! I really love how you get “prepped” for the race as well. Our car got new tires on it and it really felt like the tires were being changed, too. Amazing!I also really like the race part of the ride too. You’re only going about 40MPH during the last part, but it feels like you’re going a little faster. There are hills and turns, but they aren’t too bad. No big drops or anything. All in all, it is fairly smooth. The also take your picture on the last bigger “drop”, so make sure you are smiling!Only downside is the wait is still horrid for this ride. We got into the park a few minutes after 8am on a Sunday. By the time we got to the ride itself, it was closer to 8:15am, and there was already a 150 minute wait for the regular line and a 75 minute wait for single rider. We waited in single rider and the boy and I got lucky and were actually able to sit together (I’ve heard this has happened to a few other couples as well). I suggest if your party is only 1-2 people to just do single rider. Also, the fast passes were “sold out” in about an hour. Fun ride and a wonderful addition to CA Adventure. I now feel like this park is actually part of the Disney company!Cheers!

To say I am excited about this would be a HUGE understatement! Seeing people riding in the cars shows just how close opening day is! I can’t wait to see it in person. California Adventure might just become my favorite “2nd Gate”. It is fitting that it is right next to my favorite park, Disneyland!
